As you can imagine, the choice of brands we offer is not a matter of chance.
No, we do not have shares in these companies.
On a more serious note, before launching our dropshipping application we had to select the products and brands to put online.
We wanted to make the right choice from the start so that we wouldn't have to come back to it and above all so as not to disappoint you, dear dropshipper!
Through our T-Pop shop, we were able to try out (I would even say "test") these three brands: we tested the printing surface of each of the models, in different colours, we tested how they held up after washing and we were able to see how durable they were (thanks in particular to our customer feedback).
First of all: if you want to know the detailed specifications of each t-shirt, go to this article.
The SG Tee is a 100% cotton t-shirt that offers a very good price/quality ratio. We have chosen it as our "entry level" because it has many advantages over its competitors.
The most important thing for us is that it does not have a collar label, only a size chip.
It is an essential element for anyone who wants to launch their brand. Thus, the SG brand does not appear in the collar. This way, you can easily add a printed collar or custom label attached to the size chip (an option we will offer within a few weeks).
However, the brand name (whether SG, B&C or Stanley/Stella) appears on the label sewn into the side of the shirt, which is not removable. Don't worry, we've never had any bad feedback on this, it's discreetly placed.
Secondly, it's thicker than most of its competitors and therefore offers a better printing surface. It has a grammage of 160 g/m2 when the others weigh on average 150 g/m2. This is an argument that you can put forward in your shop: it is not unusual for customers to ask us for thicker T-shirts, especially for those who often wear them in winter under a jumper.
The cut of the men's T-shirts is straight and respects French standards, they fit properly.
On the other hand, women's t-shirts have a slim fit and are rather tight. Advise your clients to take a size larger if they do not want a close fit.
Finally, a little coquetry that differentiates it from the other two brands: inside the collar, the cleanliness band is contrasted, it is "ash grey".
Isn't that sweet?
The main strength of B&C t-shirts (this includes the round neck models for men and women, the V-neck model for men and the tank top for women) is its 100% organic cotton manufacture and its adherence to the "Fair wear" label, which certifies compliance with working conditions in the factory where they are manufactured.
This is a VERY important element for the marketing that you will put in place around your brand. If you want your brand to have an "eco-responsible" aura, you must choose a textile that is as "clean" as possible.
Today's customers are more and more sensitive to the ecology and the origin of the products they buy, so don't hesitate to highlight these two strong points.
In addition, B&C T-shirts all have no collar labels, they are only equipped with a size chip, located in the centre of the collar (just like the SGs). However, they are lighter than the SGs, all four weighing 140 g/m2. The printing surface has been specially designed for digital printers, which allows for optimal colour results and good durability.
The men's T-shirts have a modern, slightly slim fit, but respect the French sizes. For women's T-shirts, unlike SG, they are rather loose. If you choose these models, you will have to tell your customers to choose a size down if they want to wear them closer to the body. It is important to make this clear if you want to avoid disappointments and consequently returns.
It is the LEADER brand of 100% organic cotton t-shirts, and has succeeded in making a name for itself in the highly competitive textile sector, thanks in particular to its innovations and its very good communication. It was impossible not to include Stanley/Stella in our application.
The brand is considered to be top of the range and offers very good quality textiles with excellent durability. We have tested the LEADS (men's), WANTS (women's) and PAINTS (children's) on numerous orders and can testify to the excellent quality of the T-shirts.
They also offer very good print quality thanks to a surface designed for digital printers (DTG).
They are the precursors of the "no label": they are the first to have proposed on their entire range (t-shirts, polo shirts, sweatshirts) simple size chips, without neck labels, as found with competitors such as Fruit of the Loom, Sol's or Gildan. This allows shops to sell Stanley/Stella with another brand's name on the collar. Clever, isn't it?
Today, demand has exploded and many brands can more easily get started by customising collars without having to cut the labels (having tried it, we can tell you that it was very inconvenient and difficult not to leave a piece of the label in the collar seam).
The only complaint that could be raised would be the price, but the quality, innovation and the many labels that certify the ecological nature of the manufacture have an additional cost.
However, you should know that the brands that customise Stanley/Stella t-shirts sell them for an average of more than 30 €.
The margin therefore remains really interesting. The most important thing is to communicate around ecological manufacturing: many people are sensitive to it and will prefer to buy a t-shirt a few euros more expensive if it is 100% organic cotton (and they are right).
Last but not least, the three brands manufacture their t-shirts in Bangladesh, which, contrary to popular belief, houses many factories at the cutting edge of technology and in compliance with current environmental and safety standards.
